OVERVIEW
Cis-3-Hexenol, extracted from Mentha Oil, is a colourless to pale yellow oily liquid with strong grassy green, herbaceous odour of freshly cut grass and leaves. Because of it’s aroma it has become an important compound which is used in fruit and vegetables flavours and in fragrance industry. It is also used in fruity, green tea flavours and many flavours like mint and different variety of fruit complexes.
Cis-3-Hexenol is often compared to wine leaves because of it’s powerful, caramellic fruity character. It is found in many flowers, fruits and vegetables such as carnation, gardenia, cherry, apricot, grape, lemon, orange, etc. Traces of cis-3-Hexenol are used in refreshing topnotes in delicate floral fragrance types, such as Muguet and Lilac.
Cis-3-Hexenol also known as Leaf alcohol has plenty of medicinal benefits and no reported side effects. It helps to relieve swelling, itching, bleeding, heals wound, reduce burning sensation and discomfort.
